Dr Brett MacFarlane

Dr Brett MacFarlane graduated with honours from the School of Pharmacy at the University of Queensland in
1994.

He worked as a community pharmacist before returning to the UQ Faculty of Medicine to complete a PhD in skin science at the Therapeutics Research Group at the Princess Alexandria Hospital.

Brett has published a number of papers in peer-reviewed journals in the area of pharmacy practice research and has been invited to author various reviews and textbook chapters. Brett regularly speaks at conferences and seminars on evidence-based medicine in the disciplines of dermatology, gastroenterology, and other areas.

Brett has previously been the Chief Pharmacist and member of the Academic Board of the Australian College of
Pharmacy, and now works for the Pharmaceutical Society of Australia where he has oversight of their national
continuing professional development program for pharmacists. He is a visiting fellow in the Discipline of Pharmacy, School of Clinical Sciences, Queensland University of Technology.
