Join us for the ‘Above the Arctic Circle’ Small Group Tour and Conference to Finland & Norwayin February 2026., a journey through the breathtaking winter landscapes of Lapland. This exclusive itinerary has been carefully designed to optimise your chances of the magnificent Aurora Borealis in all its glory spending the majority of our time above the Arctic Circle.
We’ll begin in Helsinki, where you’ll explore the history, architectural flair and flourishing food scene of this Scandic gem.
It’s then time to head off above the Arctic Circle where you’ll stay in a glass igloo – the perfect vantage point to spot any dancing rays in the northern sky. Your days will be filled with exhilarating adventures, including driving a team of huskies across the white shimmering snow. Feel the rush as these eager dogs race through the Arctic wilderness and experience the exhilaration as the sled glides effortlessly over the snow drifts.
Reindeer are part of everyday life in Lapland and are semi wild in this area. You’ll hop on a sleigh and discover the world of reindeer herding spending time with a traditional reindeer herder and learning the ways of reindeer husbandry.
For thrill seekers, ice karting is on the agenda offering another dose of adrenaline before you end the day with another night basking in the glow of the dancing lights (we hope)!
Heading further north you’ll cross the border between Finland and Norway. The Finnish language has over 40 word for snow. Travelling through this part of the world, you’ll understand why. The endless serene whiteness is truly a sight to behold!
This is the land of the Sami people. Nomadic reindeer herders have lived here for hundreds of years, and the traditional lifestyle is very much alive. You’ll visit Karasjok – the Sami capital with a private tour to the Sami parliament and more opportunities to look to the skies for a chance of the aurora. We can’t deny it’s cold here but as the light disappears, this is the ideal location to head outside and look to the skies.
Our adventures continues further north, you’ll pass frozen waterfalls and more stunning whiteness with trees heavy with snow arriving in Sorrisniva. Home here is Arctic Wilderness Lodge Resort, built on the bank of the Alta River in Norway’s high Arctic your views are what winter dreams are made of. This is truly what being in the Arctic is all about – with a touch luxury!
You will be based here for three nights, visiting the worlds northernmost ice hotel. Each year experienced artists and builders come together to build a new and unique hotel from scratch with a special theme. Unlike other ice hotels in the region, ice used is not stored in freezers until required but harvested from the first snowfalls of the season in Sierravann, a few kilometres further into the Alta Valley.
Snowmobile through the tundra to the Alta plateau where wildlife roams and the silence is profound. You may even want to spend a night sleeping on the ice in the whimsical creations of the ice hotel.
The journey continues to the town of Alta before arriving in Tromso known as the ‘Venice of the North’ and the Arctic capital.
