Our Small Group Tour and Conference in August 2025 – The Treasures of Brazil – sees us travelling to three distinctly different regions of this vast country.
Mention Brazil and it conjure images of one of the most colourful and vibrant countries on earth. Containing some of the most diverse flora and fauna, Brazil is home to the largest rainforest, one of the world’s longest rivers, and the biggest wetlands on the planet.
In this immersive itinerary you’ll delve into the absolute must-see highlights, combining the buzzing cities of Rio de Janeiro & Sao Paulo with the eclectic diverse wildlife and culture of the Amazon rainforest and beyond to the Brazilian Pantanal. You’ll be dazzled from beginning to end as you travel through this country of epic proportions.
Your Amaco ‘Treasures of Brazil’ itinerary begins in Rio de Janeiro with its instantly recognisable landmarks – Copacabana beach, Ipanema, Sugarloaf mountain and the every imposing Christ the Redeemer statue. Lively and vibrant – it’s the perfect start to acquaint yourself with the Brazilian way of life.
From here it’s off to the infamous Iguassu Falls. Set within the backdrop of Iguazu National Park in Argentina and its sister park Iguaçu in Brazil. Iguazu Falls draws visitors from around the world as it swirls its way along, forming the border of the two countries. The Iguazu River drops nearly 80 metres to create a plummeting chasm. Either side offers its own, entirely different panorama and we’ll be visiting both!
You’ll stay within the confines of the national park at the luxurious Belmond Hotel das Cataratas. It’s the only way to experience privileged access to the park when all day visitors depart. Imagine watching the weakening glow of sunset over the falls when the park has closed and you can explore the panoramic walkways all by yourself. Pure bliss!
Then it’s off to the big city of Sao Paulo for a quick stop before diving into the Amazon rainforest. Spending time in the ‘lungs of the planet’ is rewarding but it’s more developed than you might think! For this reason you’ll head to a far-flung settlement swallowed deep in the rainforest. It’s the gateway to an Amazonian lodge that offers by far the finest Amazon experience.
For those with a little more time your epic journey continues with our Post Tour extension to the spectacular wetlands of the Brazilian Pantanal. Perhaps one of the best-kept wildlife secrets in South America – it’s often referred to as a ‘Brazilian Safari’! Even more biodiverse than the Amazon, it’s an absolute must for curious travellers wanting to get off the beaten track and spot more wildlife. You’ll be accompanied by resident naturalist guides as you embark on a series of water safaris that permeate the interior of the wetlands, offering the opportunity to spot some of South America’s most fascinating wildlife. This is the land of the jaguar as well as many other endemic species and a seemingly endless spectrum of bird life.
