The hotel consists of a series of buildings connected by underground passageways. The Schwarzwaldbaus is classified as a historical monument and was built in 1416, and rebuilt in 1639. The Main House, built around 1890, is classified as a historical monument, and consists of a Reception Hall, and guest rooms. The Residence was added in 1978 and has Conference facilities and further guest rooms. The Spa & Beauty Pavilion, newly built, opened in August 1999.
Located in Hinterzarten village in the Black Forest the location is pure fairytale, surrounded by lush pine forest and an abundance of charm.
The individually styled rooms and suites are mainly located in the main building and are spacious with all modern amenities.
