After starting her career as a Speech Pathologist, Allison did her medical training at the University of Newcastle as a mature aged student. She then trained as a General Practitioner, working as a GP in Sydney, rural New Zealand, rural NSW and Wollongong. She has also spent 20 years working part time in Emergency Departments.
Since 2008 Allison has worked as a Medical Educator, with both undergraduate and postgraduate trainees.
She holds a position as Clinical Senior Lecturer at the Graduate School of Medicine, University of Wollongong and is currently the Regional Head of Education for South Eastern NSW with GP Synergy, the provider of GP training in NSW. She works part time in a General Practice in Shellharbour, NSW.
Allison’s interests include communication skills, OSCE preparation, remediation of the Registrar in difficulty, and Simulation. When not working, you will find her reading a crime novel or spending time with her husband or one of her six children.
